Palm Beach Cottage
Pittwater Coastal Retreat Renovation (Stage 2)
Following the success of Stage 1, where we transformed a simple carport into a functional garage and studio, our clients re-engaged us to deliver the next phase of their Mina House project on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. This holiday home, perched above Pittwater, has always been their haven from city life. With Stage 2, the brief was clear: create a sophisticated coastal classic that embraces the views, improves functionality, and transforms the home into a true retreat.
The existing layout was reconfigured to open the floor plan and enhance flow. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors now connect the living areas to expansive alfresco spaces, drawing Pittwater’s natural beauty into the heart of the home. Clever use of skylights floods the interior with natural light, creating a spacious, airy atmosphere that makes every room feel connected to its coastal surroundings.
Bespoke joinery was designed throughout, delivering both luxe finishes and clever storage solutions that elevate everyday functionality. Wasted exterior areas were re-utilised, including the addition of a sweeping new front deck — a sophisticated focal point that captures panoramic water views and provides the perfect setting for long summer afternoons.
The result is a holiday home that is both stylish and practical — a coastal classic with contemporary design features, perfectly tailored to the lifestyle of a family seeking escape, connection, and relaxation by the water.
